Versailles Private Transfer from Paris
The Palace of Versailles is only 20 km from Paris, but a real trek by public transport: RER C to Versailles Château Rive Gauche, then the walk to the gates, then the same crowded return in the afternoon. A private round-trip transfer takes you from your hotel to the Palace in about 50 minutes, and picks you up at the time you choose.
Everything inside the estate is done on foot and at your own pace, so we keep it simple: we drive you, you explore. No rushed group tour, no fixed schedule.
How it works
- Pick-up at your Paris hotel — a morning departure is best, the Palace is quietest before 10:00.
- Direct drive to Versailles, about 45–60 minutes depending on traffic.
- You visit on your own. Choose your return time — it stays flexible, and you can adjust it with your driver on the day.
- Pick-up at the same point, direct drive back to your hotel.
Planning your day at Versailles
The estate covers 800 hectares. What you see depends on how long you stay. There are four parts:

The Trianon estate and the Hamlet are a 20–30 minute walk from the Palace through the gardens — or take the estate’s little train (paid), which loops Palace → Grand Canal → Trianon.
Roughly, plan for:
- Palace only — 2–3 h on site, so about a 5-hour round trip from Paris
- Palace + Gardens — around 4 h on site, about 6 hours
- The whole estate (Palace, Gardens, Trianons, Hamlet) — 5–7 h, a real day out, 8–9 hours
Before you go
- The Palace is open every day except Monday, roughly 09:00–18:30 (until 17:30 in winter). The Trianon estate opens at 12:00. The gardens are open daily — free, except on Grandes Eaux Musicales and Jardins Musicaux days (spring to autumn), when a garden ticket is required.
- Book your tickets in advance on the official site, chateauversailles.fr. The Passport ticket covers the Palace, the Trianon estate and the musical gardens — choose a timed entry slot for the Palace or you will queue. Under-18s and EU under-26s enter free but still need a (free) timed ticket.
